Paramita Das
Paramita Das’ works are cross-pollination of documentary form, experimental cinema, live art, absurdist performance, conceptual art and video/sound installation. Her long involvement with Sufi saints-Pirs, Bauls and Fakirs in Bangladesh led to explorations of 'ecstasy' and the decontextualizing of 'feminine' and 'femininity', 'self' and 'other'. She graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh University in Scotland in 2011 with the Charles Wallace India Trust award (2010-2011). She is the Artistic Director of Doc Doctors (work in progress) that aims to curate, commission, produce and exhibit experimental media art. Her works have been exhibited in India, UK, USA, Africa and some parts of Europe. Her works have been featured in the Senses of Cinema, Aesthetica in UK, Telegraph, Deutsche Welle in Germany, Art and Deal in India, Times of India etc.
